We were fortunate enough to interview rising artist Rich Cholo.
When did you realize that you had a passion for music?
Around the time “Hustle N Flow” was released was when I realized that I had an interest in music, which soon developed into a full time hobby and now I’m blessed to be making money off my music.
Who are your main inspirations as an artist?
I pick little bits and pieces of inspiration from everywhere, I could give a pretty big portion of that to the classic hip hop and rock legends such as; N.W.A and Sublime. I’ve always had found interest in both rap and rock music, sometimes one more than the other.
What would you like to achieve as an artist?
My main goal is to make an impression on whoever out there may need it. Whether I motivate them at work, or to apply themselves more musically or in their craft I just look to have people hear my music and get a confidence boost.
What is your most memorable moment while being an artist?
Fully committing yourself to something comes with plenty of notable moments, but by far one of the most rewarding things is fan love. There’s never a dull moment when you’re constantly meeting new people.
Who is the biggest artist you’ve worked with?
Unfortunately this industry is saturated with unmotivated and inauthentic people in most cases. In regards to working with bigger names ive noticed a pattern when reaching out for business matters and that is that they rather steal money than get paid for features. Doesn’t matter how known someone is, do not allow anyone to play with your time or money. I prefer to work solo.
Tell us a little more about your recent project?
My most recent release was a diss track titled “Rot In Piss” which is a play off the groups name who I dissed (R.I.P Da Clique). After about a year of tolerating name dropping and rumors I decided to set the record straight by addressing some personal beef on the track and letting my platform take it from there.
What should we be looking forward to from you in the future?
Definitely keep and eye out for the announcement of my next single. I also I have new merch and a recently renovation website up, and tons of content to be shared via social media.
Is there anything else you would like to tell our readers?
If you come across an independent artist you like, go out of your way to check out their websites and be sure to pick up some merch. Small contributions like that really help independent artists continue to bring you new content. Much love, Rich Cholo.
