Weekly Favourite: Kanye West "Graduation"
Now, Kanye West can't simply be my "Weekly Favourite", In fact, he is my favourite rapper of all time, in front of The Notorious B.I.G, Kendrick Lamar and 2pac.
The artist has 21 Grammys, 5 seasons of his "Yeezy" clothing line, 7 albums and a superstar family.
Ye's most recent album "The Life Of Pablo" was the first album to be stream-only and reach RIAA Platinum. Even with the album being illegally downloaded 500,000 times, Ye is just happy he's message and music is being heard.
The rapper is notorious for having the unique and different opinion to the average Joe and that's the crazy one of a kind Kanye personality his fans love.
Although Kanye and I may have different political views, he is still ultimately inspirational to millions of people, including me.
Graduatation turns 10 years old on September 11 of this year, so to celebrate, I have embeded the spotify player of my favourite Kanye West album "Graduation"
Songs that feature on the album are "Stronger" and "Can't Tell Me Nothing"
The song "Stronger" was produced featuring the duo Daft Punk.
"Can't Tell Me Nothing" also features back-up vocals from Connie Mitchell, the lead singer of the band Sneaky Sound System.
The album also features from Coldplay singer Chris Martin in the song "Homecoming" and T-pain, in the feel good song, "Good Life"
The album is a change of style for Kanye, he elvoves as a person and a rapper from his last two album's "The College Dropout" and "Late Registration" to a different and more moral character where he "graduates" into the rapper and can be seen as one of the greatest.
The album competed with 50 Cent's album, "Curtis" in a sales war once released and Kanye won with his album, selling 957,000 copies in the first week. That was the day Kanye West defeated gangsta rap.
