We were fortunate enough to interview this up and coming rapper and develop a deeper understanding of his career and what his future plans are.
When did you realize that you had a passion for music?
Being bitten by the creative bug at a very young age and learning to mix vinyl’s on my father’s turntables when I was 5, I was really infatuated with expression through music. by the time I was about 9 or 10 I mastered the art of mixing and blending records, he pauses ..my parents, unfortunately, split up, so I couldn’t DJ anymore. because I didn’t have access to my father’s equipment, but this didn’t stop me because I was determined by my love for music so I absorbed myself for hours with my favourite records. but It wasn’t until listening to the song ‘It’s a Hard Knock Life’ by Jay-Z, that I was inspired to start writing my own songs. I wanted to create something catchy and relatable that my peers would enjoy.
What are your main inspirations as an artist?
life and positive energy
What would you like to achieve as an artist?
world domination. no, seriously my goals for 2019 are to have a number #1 single on the Billboard charts and tour the world, or as I like to say, ‘Racks on Racks on Racks.’ he pauses for a laugh and then puts a slight smirk on his face. I have a lot of ambition and determination, there is no stopping me
What is your most memorable moment while being an artist?
I think.. that I have yet to realize my most memorable moment. I actually look forward to having it
What is the biggest artist you’ve worked with?
I really want that to be a surprise for my new project
Tell us a little more about your recent project?
I released my debut project ‘J.O.Y’ (Jokes On You), on September 6th 2018, after signing with ‘Chionesu The Label’- its made up of songs I’ve been working on for the past few years. With the help of my music producer, brother, label CEO and mentor Mr P, I am refining my talent and sharpening my skills and also learning the music business through traditional artist development. my songs on J.O.Y tell the story of determination through struggle (that's what I like to call it) and the strive for better things. Actually, I wanted to write something completely new for the debut release, but they wanted me to release my older material first because they felt I had some really good songs. it is mostly me experimenting with my different styles.
What should we be looking forward to from you in the future?
I am currently recording my next project, a release that will show a different side of me. Heavily influenced by my spiritual experiences and my diving into a psychedelic culture, these tracks will tell the public more about me on a personal level. I really want to be viewed as an artist rather than a standard rapper.
