Interview With Tiara Monroe
We were fortunate enough to interview up and coming rapper, singer, & producer, Tiara Monroe.
When did you realise that you had a passion for music?
I realized I had a passion for music when I was just 3 years old and first being introduced to rap music by Tupac and Biggie that my uncle would listen to. I knew that music was apart of me and when I couldn't hold myself back from singing and rapping word for word to every Tupac song I wasnt even in preschool yet.
Who are your main inspirations as an artist?
My music inspirations are Kanye West, Missy Elliot, Eminem, and Nicki Minaj because they are groundbreaking game changing artist who always stayed true to their style and never needed any help with being original and expressing their talents. Like myself , they take pride in their work and that's really important to me as an artist.
What would you like to achieve as an artist?
I would like to achieve the opportunity to be heard and to inspire people all over the world that it's never too late to go after your dream and especially for the women who feel they have to be, or look, or act a certain way to be recognized in their industry. I wanna show the world that talent speaks for itself
What is your most memorable moment while being an artist?
My most memorable moment. Anytime I perform or I am introducing my music to a live audience whether it be 2 people or 100, the reaction and the suprising look on their face is like a priceless moment Everytime. Nobody is expecting me to go as hard as I do lyrically
Who is the biggest artist you’ve worked with?
I haven't worked with any big artist. I have been in contact with with someone I would consider as somewhat of a mentor. He is a world renowned producer from Legion beats and I'm learning alot from him about the music business in general.
Tell us a little more about your recent project?
My new and first single is called The Run Down which will be apart of an EP mixtape I'm working on. The song was produced soley by me and eventually written by me. I also make all of my beats and produced all of music so the song started off as apart of my collection and then one day I was catching a vibe with some friends and I began to record myself freestyling to the beat and naturally a a whole song was just made based off the vibe I had at the time because that's how I create. It's always feeling, I'm never really worried about where verses have to go or the technical shit because it takes away from the creative process.
What should we be looking forward to from you in the future?
You can look forward to my mixtape which I don't have a name for yet, that's going to drop this fall. Every track is self produced. I made all of my beats and I write all of my songs from start to finish. There's no ghostwriting going on here just straight passion and raw fucking talent. I may have 1 track produced by Legion Beats.
