Interview With Dotan Ramot
1) When did you realise that you had a passion for music?
I used to sing and perform when I was a kid and this was always a dream of mine, but I kinda left it behind and concentrated on acting. I’ve been writing songs since I was 16 or so but it was only in the last couple of years that I started to feel that my material was good enough and should be recorded and released to the world.
2) What would you like to achieve as an artist?
For me, it’s all about the writing and making music. As simple as that. I want people to listen to it, enjoy it and maybe I can even make them feel and identify. If that happens, then I’ve achieved more than I could have hoped for as an artist.
3. What can we expect from your upcoming debut album?
It’s a pop record, but I’d like to think it’s deep and sophisticated pop. It’s a very diverse album and has combinations of a bit of rock, jazz, Big band and some heartfelt ballads. I wrote a very personal album and as terrifying as it is to reveal it to the world, I think that that is why it’s worth listening to.
4. Who your first single “Exit” is about?
I get asked that a lot. “Exit” is actually not about any one specific person but more of a combination of different people whom I knew throughout the years, friends or people whom I thought were my friends, so different lines are for different people. But mostly, this song for me is just a fun tongue and cheek sort of track with a great groove that should not to be taken too seriously.
5. What is your favorite song from your album?
One Last Melody. But 300 Lovers is a very close second.
6. Who would you like to duet with?
I want to say The Weeknd but since I’m already getting carried away with this then why not say John Lennon? Imagine that!
7) Is there anything else you would like to tell our readers?
Stay true to yourself, Don’t let anyone tell you what you can or can’t do, choose love and not hate and be sure to check out my new album. Dotan Ramot's latest single "300 Lovers" is available on all digital stores and his debut album "Stick To The Low" will be out on November 1st.
