Interview With David Xandre

October 14, 2019

When did you realise that you had a passion for music?

Hi, I am known as David Xandre, I am a Pop Singer-Songwriter/Dancer. I had a strong passion for music since very little, but I really took it seriously when I was 16. What pushed me to practice singing and dancing was my idol's death - Michael Jackson. I practiced eight hours every day for two years on his vocals, dancing style and songs, along with Janet Jackson. Also, that was when I started songwriting my own thoughts and emotions. The more I did it, the more melodies came to my head naturally.

Who are your main inspirations as an artist?

My main inspirations are Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson, Aaliyah & Shirley Manson from Garbage group.
However, I've been heavily influenced by other hit artists from the '80s and '90s.

What would you like to achieve as an artist?

I'm a very spiritual person.

Coming from humble beginnings where love was unconditional, to lose it while growing up, finding it again is one of my biggest goals in life. I portray this in my music. Not only that, I come from a long history of pain and changing in order to change the situation.

People need to wake up and look deeply inside themselves, all answers lie there.

What is your most memorable moment while being an artist?

It was being recognized as MJ's best similar voice by Jackson's double official and performer by Sony Music, in 2013.

Everyone was astonished by my voice (I still have a short video of that moment), and it was promised I would sing on his tours.

At the moment of truth... it was nothing but a broken promise. Later it would be confessed by an employee from the place where I performed that I was a threat to his career - My world sank and froze my blood. Took me quite a while to recover from this, but I did it, because sooner or later I still know my worth as an artist and human being

Who is the biggest artist you’ve worked with?

I have worked with Taylor Carroll, son of multiple Grammy and Dove award winning artist Bruce Carroll.
We have becomes very good friends and it's always a blast working together on my songs - He's a fan.
Taylor not only is such an amazing artist but an incredibly talented music producer !
He definitely he deserves the recognition too !

Tell us a little more about your recent project?

My most recent project was actually releasing on media a single I recorded with Taylor one year ago, called "Missed Our Chance", although our most proud work is "Venom Club" song.

At the moment I am songwriting other songs, and maybe a release will come up soon.

What should we be looking forward to from you in the future?

My true self.

Is there anything else you would like to tell our readers?

I am not Michael Jackson, just a person who's very alike.

However, I hope a great many people welcome me with open arms.
