Interview With Hard Lemon Days
We were fortunate enough to interview Hard Lemon Days, a guitarist/songwriter who has just released a new single entitled 'Never Too Late'.
When did you realize that you had a passion for music? When I was ten years old, in my bedroom listening to REO Speedwagon "Can't Fight This Feeling" on the radio. Next up was Cheap Trick "Don't Be Cruel" and my first cassette single that I bought, Def Leppard "Armageddon It". Who are your main inspirations as an artist? Poison made me want to play guitar. The late great Jani Lane of Warrant made me want to write songs. Rick Nielsen of Cheap Trick made me want to be a guitarist/songwriter. Along the way I picked up so many different pop/rock influences that it's hard to define my sound as being like one band or genre. What would you like to achieve as an artist? A quote from the movie The Wedding Singer says it all - "I kind of just wanted to be a songwriter ...to write a song, a song that when people hear it they go - oh I know what that guy was feeling when he wrote that." That is my one and only goal. To have people hear it, and feel it. What is your most memorable moment while being an artist? When I was in the band Greenstick Fracture, in 2005, and people bought our cds online. Going to the post office to mail a complete stranger a cd that they bought from our website, it made me feel like a rock star! Tell us a little more about your recent project? During this pandemic, I've had the time and resources to put into a project. I recorded a 3 song EP of some of what I feel are my strongest songs I've written over the last few years. I titled it Pandemonium because I feel it fits the times "wild and noisy disorder or confusion; uproar". The first single "Never Too Late" is on all the streaming services. It's a melancholy ballad about finding the smallest amount of hope in brokenness. The other two songs are "Say Goodbye". I borrowed that title from a Cheap Trick song, and it's my power pop song on the EP. Also is a nice quirky acoustic pop song called "All In My Head". "Say Goodbye" is available on now Bandcamp, and "All In My Head" will be in August. Is there anything else you would like to tell our readers? Please check out my songs! I'd appreciate it so much!
