Interview With hollywoodalyan : 'The decision to release this first was a no brainer.'

We were fortunate enough to interview artist hollywoodalyan.

1. Can you introduce yourself?

Yes, definitely! “I’m hollywoodalyan, I’m 27 years old and I’m a singer-songwriter, rapper, and engineer. I went to school for Music Production. I just started my own label, My first single “Everything I Wanted” is out now and I got some surprises coming along with that”.

2. A hint? Give the people something!

(Laughs) “I got a lyric video coming, we’re in talks to shoot a video and I’m just gonna say .... there might be a collab on the way... or not.. you know... I guess... maybe”.. I’m sorry, I’m a Sagittarius, so I can keep secrets when it comes to other people, but if it’s my swirl of things going on, I be spilling the beans too quick”.

3. Where are you from?

“I’m from Brooklyn, New York originally. I recently decided to move to the west side. The energy and views are just surreal and different for me, being that I’ve been on the East my whole life. Lots of progress being made and overall I feel like I’m becoming who I’m supposed to be”.

4. So the song.. I’m sure you have some records stashed away, Why this one as a single?

This song really came to be very quick, I had just been in an “entanglement” sort of thing, and we promised each other too much too soon. I wanted to go the opposite route, instead of making a sad r&b record, I created more of an up-tempo chilled vibe song. I’m telling people to not take stuff that serious, to move on past drama, and failed relationships etc. It’s important with where we are in the world today, to have that sense of purpose and self-worth, not letting anyone or anything stop your journey. The decision to release this first was a no brainer.

5. Are you working on an album?

I am sort of working on a few projects at once. I have more music coming and some things in the works (TBA).

6. We ask this a lot, are you ready? What’s your favorite lyric from this song?

Easy, and it’s probably not what people think. It’s “If you left me, just know I’ll be fine, back then I forgot to have fun, fu*k love, I can never find the one” it’s self-explanatory and so many can relate to that type of simple lyric.

7. Will your whole album sound like this record?

“No, Not at all. I love making music that feels right to me. On the album, there’s definitely a nice balance of R&B, Hip Hop, Pop, Dance and maybe even a ballad. It’s all about how many songs I finish and the sequencing. That’s the fun part, making it come alive as a whole, like painting a canvas with a certain vision.
