Interview With Shan Sherif

We were fortunate enough to interview Shan Sherief, with the recent release of the track, 'Boulevard'.

When did you realise that you had a passion for music?

My realisation of the passion toward music started when I was really young, when me and my sister used to record song from TV shows and listen to it back to back and write the lyrics and sing the song to eachother. To make that passion to reality it took my 20years.

Who are your main inspirations as an artist?

Coming from a country rich in culture and versatile style of music alot of India artist has inspired me through the way like AR Rahman and many more when I look to find where I really started this love towards music it's Michael Jackson.

What would you like to achieve as an artist?

As an artist I want to tell my story in a way which is unique and special, the stories I tell should be relateble by the crowd and sell out venues in my journey to being an artist.

What is your most memorable moment while being an artist?

I am a part of a Trio called Savage Citizens, this happed last year when we were performing in NIT Calicut Kerala, where when we performed 7k people screaming and at that time when you hold your mic and look at them it was something I could never forget.

Who is the biggest artist you’ve worked with?

Till date I have worked with few good names I have worked along Paris and Simo, Sartek.

Tell us a little more about your recent project?

Boulevard ny collaboration with LA based producer song writer Distant Music was such a beautiful track to work on we both had relationship in past where we faces few things where we sat together in Skype calls back to back meetings to get the best out of it .

This song tells a story about a girl who double times men and finally come to know that those to men are friends. We were so casual in writing the lyrics for it but turned out to be a crazy one.

What should we be looking forward to from you in the future?

Have this massive collaboration coming with Anastrrix who is the highest followed DJ in India hope that the so g would change the whole concept of taking Indian music to the world.

Is there anything else you would like to tell our readers?

Being in Kerala a South State in India , only my dreams have made me reach so far. I want all the upcoming artist and Dreamers to keep dreaming . And all your dreams will come true.
