Interview With ZhRrrr
We were fortunate enough to interview ZhRrrr, and talk a bit about upcoming projects the artist has in store for us.
When did you realise that you had a passion for music?
All of my earliest childhood memories involve music, for example the earliest one i can think of was when i listened to The Middle by Jimmy Eat World came out and i was about 3 years old at the time. By the time I got to high school i would spend time at lunch freestyling with my friends and thats when i got the knack for making raps. When I was 16 I recorded my first songs, which were remixes of Carry On by X and AUDI by Smokepurpp. 3 years later, I'm 19 and I figure i found my niche and I mostly just wanna change peoples lives with my music.
Who are your main inspirations as an artist?
My taste in music is very vast so my main inspirations as an artist vary. David Gilmour of Pink Floyd has to be a big one since i really think he found a way to communicate by playing the guitar and that really influenced how i play my own guitar and even how i write music. As a rapper, I'd say Mac Miller is my biggest influence, his music got me through a lot and i always loved how he did not give a fuck what he said but he kept the flows tight (ya know?). I can sit here all day talking about how different artists had an influence on me, but those are probably the biggest.
What would you like to achieve as an artist?
I'm a huge Frank Ocean fan, like his music seriously did so much for me especially at some of my lowest points. If i ever get to meet him i would just like to tell him that his music changed my life. As an artist, my biggest goal is to impact someones life with my music. I also want to have a huge and crazy fanbase....like some diehard fans that'd tat me on them type stuff....go crazy for me at a show, Ima make it happen one day
What is your most memorable moment while being an artist?
My most memorable moment as an artist has to be when I went to the studio for the first time. My best friend who also makes music, Nikø, hit me up to go to the studio with him late one night, he kinda surprised me and offered me to get on a song with him, and I came up with the verse and we killed it! Our track is called Teen Titans, because i know we're gonna be running shit soon. Nikø really knows how to go in on a beat, he can sing, he can rap, he's so good with ad libs and his songs bump (shoutout Nikø!)
Tell us a little more about your recent project?
My most recent release, 2020 Freestyle, is the first single on my upcoming debut project, "Steel Rain". This project is gonna be a concept, I'm not gonna reveal too much but my goal with this is to tell a story but shine some light on stuff that needs to be more talked about than it already does, for example, manipulation in a relationship, systemic racism, childhood and adult trauma.
What should we be looking forward to from you in the future?
Going into the future i think everyone can expect a lot of creativity to be expressed, i hope to grow a bigger fanbase and create a connection with others
