RAVO Interview: 'I would love to bring joy and happiness to people’s lives'

We were fortunate enough to interview artist RAVO.

1) When did you realize that you had a passion for music?

Since I was 14, I started making beats on GarageBand with a friend of mine. I then got a microphone and a stand and set up a little booth in my closet and started recording some music. My passion for music never really left since then.

2) Who are your main inspirations as an artist?

Drake, Kendrick Lamar, Childish Gambino, Jay-Z, The Weeknd, and Kanye West are huge musical inspirations to me both in how they create and release music and how they navigate the business side of the industry. They all care about the arts so much and always put their best work out, reaching a new level of success each time.

3) What would you like to achieve as an artist?

I would love to bring joy and happiness to people’s lives. I just want my music to be an escape where you can be free and enjoy your time here.

4) What is your most memorable moment while being an artist?

Charting on the on Billboard Charts when I released my debut album, “Need To Know” last August 2020. It was the best feeling in the world and it really proved to me that I can produce music that is recognized by an established music company.

5) Who is the biggest artist you’ve worked with?

Probably Mick Jenkins, but I’m from the Bay Area so it was always a dream to work with Mistah F.A.B. and Keak da Sneak. They’re legends from where I’m from. Hopefully one day I can make a track with E-40 and Too Short.

6) Tell us a little more about your recent project?

I recently released “Goodbye” during the holidays. It's a sad, holiday breakup song. I just wanted to make something where when you listen to it, you just can't help but feel some sort of emotions.

I did do a remix to “Goodbye” which is more up-tempo, so be sure to follow me to know when it’ll be released. It’s a summertime banger.

7) What should we be looking forward to from you in the future?

I’m going to try to release a song a month this year and hopefully by next year a song a week. I just have so many songs in the vault that I want people to hear, but I want to give it a proper release so they can get the proper time it deserves.

8) Is there anything else you would like to tell our readers?

Be sure to follow RAVO on Instagram @ericmbravo and Twitter at @ericbravo and go stream my Billboard charting album, “Need To Know" on all platforms. Remixes to “Energy” and “Find Me” will be released this year! Be on the lookout for these! They bring a whole new vibe to both songs!
