Stur and Drum Releases New Single 'Nomophobia'
Stur and Drum have released a new single entitled 'Nomophobia'.
This is an intricate and hypnotic composition, that experiments with an array of electronic elements, to create a unique and distinctive sound. The saw-like, hyper crush melody of this track is ever-evolving as the track progresses. The bassline is riveting and its presence is apparent. The drum pattern is minimal but sustains the momentum of the track naturally. The quick hits prior to the bass-drop is a very neat touch I wasn't expecting. The well-balanced vocals fit in perfectly with this composition, creating a narrative for the listener to delve into and explore, thanks to its rich lyricism and clean execution.
I questioned what the title and artwork meant when first receiving this submission. Nomophobia is a proposed name for the phobia of being out of cellular phone contact and having a low percentage on their phones. It has been considered as a symptom or syndrome of problematic digital media use in mental health, the definitions of which are not standardized. It's also necessary to note Stur and Drum created the cover-photo by themselves.
This is a beautiful composition that I have really enjoyed, and I know you will too.
