Survive Interview: 'I love to describe the album as lyrically conscious'

We were fortunate enough to interview artist, Survive.

When did you realise that you had a passion for music?

When I saw Grand master Flash and The Furious Five the Message video. The song described my environment at the time, and I enjoyed lyrics and music production. This is still my favorite song to this day.

Who are your main inspirations as an artist?

Eric B and Rakim, De La Soul, Queen Latifah, MC Lyte, Wu-Tang.

What would you like to achieve as an artist?

A fan base that grows with my music

What is your most memorable moment while being an artist?

Performing Live at the R&B Café in Cincinnati Ohio. It was great to get a crowd response, the song I performed is called What Is It? off my Love EP released in 2007. I will be re-releasing that digitally early next year.

Who is the biggest artist you’ve worked with?

None yet but as a lot emcee’s I would love to work with DJ Premiere, Pete Rock.

Tell us a little more about your recent project?

Knowledge is the latest Ep from Survive released 2020. I love to describe the album as lyrically conscious and the beats funky that will keep you grooving and nodding your head. This is an album that will keep you at the edge of your seat and one you don’t want to miss.

What should we be looking forward to from you in the future?

Currently I am working the next entry to the knowledge series called More Knowledge which continues the path of knowledge EP. Funky Production, Story Telling, Positive Lyrics. I am still undecided on the number of tracks but as of now I have 4 recorded and I am next working on a remix.
